RIYADH (Debriefer)--The internationally recognised government and the southern transitional council are serious about implementing the military and security part of  the Riyadh agreement, a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said on Monday.
Spokesperson for the coalition, Col. Turki Al-Maliki, said the implementation of the agreement is a gateway to a transition which has been long awaited by the Yemeni people to preserve unity, achieve economic recovery and return the situation to normal.
Major efforts exerted by the coordination and political liaison team and the leadership of the coalition in Aden have been crowned with the separation of the forces of both sides in Abyan province and the withdrawal of their forces from Aden, he said in a statement to the Asharq Al-Awsat Newspaper.
The military and security arrangements are underway in accordance with the specified plans, Al-Maliki said.
The coalition has been fighting in the country since March 2015.
On Thursday, it said a new government of 24 ministers from all factions including the council would be announced in a week.
Meanwhile, concerns remain that the STC is not withdrawing all its forces, especially from Aden.
Military sources said a number of UAE-backed companies of the Saiqah Brigades and other forces are still stationed at the 7th October camp in Aden.
The new government would be announced immediately after finalising the military and security arrangements.
