Sana'a (Debriefer) - Member of the Houthi Supreme Political Council on Saturday called on the UN Security Council's ambassadors to visit Yemen and see the "disastrous humanitarian situation".
The Houthi group calls on the UNSC representatives and envoys to do their humanitarian duty, counter famine and siege in Yemen, and listen to government staff, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi added.
The Houthi official blamed the Saudi-led coalition for denying civil servants their salaries.
According to a report recently issued by UNSC's sanction committee, the Houthis collect tax and other state revenues and use a large deal of them in funding their war efforts.
In 2019, the group used no less than US$ 1.8 billion of the state revenues in financing its military operations against the legitimate government, which the group asks to pay salaries for civil servants working in Houthi-held areas, according to the report.
