Sana'a (Debriefer) - More than one thousand soldiers fighting with the Yemeni government, including tens of Saudis and Sudanese, were killed or injured in battles during last January, spokesman for the Houthi group tweeted on Friday.
1,134 Yemeni, 75 Sudanese and 74 Saudi troops were killed or injured in military operations by the Houthi forces in January 2021, Yahiya Sarie said.
Houthi forces downed six spy planes and totally or partially damaged 92 armored vehicles and machines of the Arab coalition and supporting troops, he added.
No comment has immediately been released by the Saudi-led coalition or the Yemeni official government on the Houthi claims.
Yemen has been racked by a 6-year-old war between the Iranian-backed Houthis and the internationally-recognized government.
The conflict escalated after a Saudi-led coalition intervened militarily in the country in March 2015 to reinstate the government of President Hadi.
Yemen's conflict has triggered what the UN calls the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with most of the population in need for a type of humanitarian aid and immediate protection.
