ADEN (Debriefer)--The Mothers of Abductees Association on Thursday called on the commander of the Guards of the Republic Brig. Gen. Tariq Saleh to release a young man abducted his forces.

Ashraf Mohammed Saad was abducted 13 months ago in the districtof Khoukah in Hodeidah province while the Guards and fans of the General Peopl's Congress were marking the anniversary of the December uprising, it said.

His relatives said Saad has been tortured inside jail, it said.

Debriefer could not get a comment from Saleh's information office.

The Guards of the Republic are part of pro-government forces fighting the Houthis in western Yemen. They have been built and backed by the United Arab Emirates which is a member in a Saudi-led coalition fighting in the country.

Recently, a report by the UN panel of experts on Yemen called them a non-state armed group.
