Aden (Debriefer) - The coronavirus-linked deaths in Yemeni government-held provinces have increased to 624, the supreme emergency committee said on Wednesday, after the pandemic claimed 4 lives in the two governorates of Hadhramout and Shabwa.
34 new infections were registered in five Yemeni governorates, as well as 3 deaths in Hadhramout and a fourth in Shabwa, the committee added.
Hadhramout recorded 14 new Covid-19 infections, Aden 12, Taiz 4, Dhalea 3 and Shabwa one case, the committee said in an official release.
One person recovered from the novel coronavirus in Hadhramout.
Covid-19 recorded cases in Yemen totaled 2,221, including 624 deaths and 1,433 recoveries, making the war-torn country among the highest rates of death caused by the pandemic with 28 percent.
This rate is attributed to low healthcare service and absence of well-equipped health facilities.
