Aden (Debriefer) - The Yemeni official foreign minister on Thursday called for international pressures on the Iranian-backed Houthi group to end the "futile war" and reach a political settlement in Yemen.
The Houthis need to be forced to stop abusing the issue of Safer FSO facility and allow the UN repair team access to assess the supertanker, FM Ahmed Bin Mubarak told the UK ambassador to Yemen, Michael Aron, at a virtual meeting.
The Yemeni top diplomat accused Iran of destabilizing the regional security and stability, and supplying the Houthis with arms and technology to prolong the war.
The UK will continually exert efforts to help reach a political settlement and make peace in Yemen, Ambassador Aron said, according to the Aden-based Saba news agency.
