MUSCAT (Debriefer)--Member of the negotiation team of the Houthi group Abdulmalik Al-Ojari on Thursday reiterated they refuse to talk about peace amid continued aggression and blockade on Yemen.

We have said many times and repeatedly that blockade is not the gateway to peace, he said in a statement on Twitter.

The lofty goals can't be reached with low and inhumane means, he said.

The group has been controlling the capital Sanaa and far northern and western regions since it ousted the government in late 2014.

It insists on lifting the blockade and ending aggression by a Saudi-led coalition backing the government before going to any peace negotiations. The coalition intervened militarily in the country in March 2015.

The group demands to reopen Sanaa airport and allows fuel ships held by the coalition in the Red Sea to berth in Hudaydah province.

Any call for peace is considered unserious unless it guarantees lifting the blockade completely, the group's spokesperson and chief negotiator Mohammed Abdulsalam said a week ago.

Some countries wish peace only for the aggression states, he said, referring to the US.

The US Administration has criticised Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Marib province, saying these attacks are threatening its efforts to end the war in the country.

It has urged the warring parties to cease all hostilities and engage in negotiations to reach a comprehensive political settlement under the UN sponsorship.
