SANAA (Debriefer)--The leader of the Houthi group Abdulmalik Al-Houthi on Wednesday renewed a call for releasing Hamas operatives from Saudi prisons in return for the release of Saudi pilots and army officers captured in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia leads a military coalition which has been fighting the group in support of the internationally recognised government since March 2015.
Saudi Arabia has turned down our offer to release Palestinian prisoners and abductees, he said in a statement carried by the Sanaa-based Saba news agency.
But our offer is still out there, he said.
The Saudi regime has chosen that the abduction of Palestinians from the Hamas Movement remain a stain on it and a testament to its betrayal and its courtship to the enemy, he said.
Last year, Hamas thanked the Houthi leader for his effort to release its members detained by the Saudi authorities on terror charges and said it was communicating with the Saudi authorities through mediators over the issue.
