Sana'a (Debriefer) The Iranian-backed Houthi group on Sunday announced semi-full control of the Yemeni northern governorate of Jawf, after a "successful" military operation of "Dawn of the Desert".
Jawf governorate is now under Houthi control, spokesman for the group said, excepting for some desert areas where government troops are still stationed.
"The Dawn of the Desert operation led to the liberation of al-Yatama district and the nearby in Jawf," Yahiya Sarie added, noting that the coalition and government troops were expelled.
An area of more than 1,200 square kilometer was captured, the "enemy forces were inflicted gross losses and large deals of arms were looted," he said.
The Houthi officer vowed persistent military escalation inside Yemen and more attacks on Saudi lands.
"We won't hesitate to carry out more vital operations in the coming time as part of our legitimate defense of the people and homeland.
"We're about to start a new stage of countering the aggression, and we have suitable options for that," Sarie added, promising to publicize details of the "Dawn of the Desert" operation soon.
