United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths

United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths Thursday evening called on the people of Yemen to raise their voice and call for peace and a better future, and urged the parties to the conflict to lay down arms and open the humanitarian corridors.

"To the people of Yemen," Griffiths said in a message:" I wish Ramadan brings you its gifts of peace, reconciliation and joy. I hope you will continue to raise your voices to demand peace and to defend your right to a better future. " 

"May the spirit of this Holy month inspire and provide the desire, strength, as well as the determination, to achieve durable peace and stability in Yemen.," he said, calling the parties to the conflictthe parties to the conflict "Release all those who lost their liberty due to the conflict. Open humanitarian corridors. Focus on coordinating your efforts to help your country respond to the pandemic outbreak and other emergency needs.".

He expressed his wish that the month of Ramadan be an opportunity to sharpen the resolve and determination to reach a lasting peace and stability in Yemen and its people.
