Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Houthi group on Friday called on the international community to quit recognition of the Yemeni official President Hadi and his government.
In a televised speech on the 58th anniversary of 26 September Revolution, head of the Houthi Supreme Political Council called the United Nations to assess rational stances in a way that respects the Yemeni people's sovereignty and interests and enhances international peace and security.
By its continual recognition of the Yemeni government's legitimacy, the UN belittles the Yemeni people's dignity, Mahdi al-Mashat added.
The international community knows that "Qaeda and Daesh are integral part of the legitimate government, and that thieves and corrupts have no legitimacy, neither those living in capitals that bomb their own capital," he said.
"We remind the international community and the UN that the history won't forgive them for continually recognizing a legitimacy they know to be false," Mashat added.
Since its ouster of the UN-recognized government on 21 September 2014, the Houthi group has been controlling the Yemeni capital Sana'a and most of other northern provinces, while President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and his official government are living in Riyadh.
This Iranian-backed group's overthrow led a Saudi-led coalition to intervene the country on 26 March 2015 in support of the ousted President Hadi.
