Sa'ada (Debriefer) - The Yemeni government troops on Thursday foiled a Houthi attempted infiltration towards their Baqim-based sites in the northern governorate of Sa'ada, commander of the fifth border guards brigade said.
"The national army's troops fended off an infiltration attempted by Houthi throngs leftward the al-Tibab al-Sood (black hills) in Baqim front, north Sa'ada," Mohamed al-Bahili added in remarks to media.
"Nine of the Houthi militants were killed and others injured," he claimed, as "the rest fled" the scene.
The army's artillery targeted Houthi reinforcements on personnel carriers heading from the al-Raboo'a Triangle to support the throngs, leaving all fighters onboard killed, Gen Bahili added.
Over two years now, Sa'ada fronts have seen sporadic battles pitting the government troops against Houthis, but no party has made tangible gains on the ground.
