MARIB (Debriefer)--Warplanes of a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen on Monday struck Houthi reinforcements in south of Marib province where battles between the government and Houthi forces have been raging for months.
They targeted military pickup trucks carrying weapons and fighters while crossing into the area of Najd Al-Majma'ah from the adjacent province of Bayda, destroying three pickup trucks and killing all fighters who were on them, local sources said.
Meanwhile, the government forces backed by tribal fighters have captured the Rahoum Oslat Al-Himam Mountain in the district of Rahbah after fierce battles with the Houthis, local sources said, adding that scores of fighters from both sides were killed and injured in the battles.
They are advancing towards Najd Al-Majma'ah with support from warplanes of the coalition, the sources said.
Separately, battles between the two sides intensified early on Monday in the areas of Salib and Najd Al-Ataq in the district of Nihem east of the capital Sanaa following the arrival of Houthi reinforcements.
