Aden (Debriefer) - Emirati-backed forces on Thursday arrested an officer affiliated to the Yemeni government troops near the southern port city of Aden, Yemeni sources said Friday.
A military checkpoint of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces arrested Mustafa al-Kazimi, the sources added, while the officer of the Presidential Guard third brigade was travelling from Abyan to Aden.
The reasons behind the arrest have not immediately been known, said the sources.
The interim capital was seized by STC forces in August 2019, after fierce battles with the official government troops that were forced out of Aden.
