Abyan (Debriefer) - The Yemeni official army on Friday shot down an Emirati drone flown by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces in the southern governorate of Abyan, information deputy minister tweeted.
The UAV was downed amid fierce battles in al-Tariah and Darjaj east Zinjobar, the provincial capital of Abyan, Mohamed Qaizan added.
For his part, military spokesman for the STC in Abyan said their forces in al-Tariah fended off an attempted infiltration by the government troops, which "were forced to retreat."
Abyan fight front on Thursday witnessed sporadic confrontations in the central strip, Mohamed al-Naqib added in a tweet.
