Aden (Debriefer) - The United Arab Emirates will meet worse fate than that it suffered in Libya, advisor to Yemen's information minister tweeted on Friday, after the official army downed a drone flown by the Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces in the southern governorate of Abyan.
The UAE supplies the Abu Dhabi-backed STC with drones used against the Yemeni national army, Mukhtar al-Rahabi added.
These drones were given to STC by Emirates "that is expert in targeting the Yemeni army and people, the same role it played in Libya."
The UAE took "severe lesson in Libya, but in Yemen it waits even worse," the Yemeni official warned.
Earlier on Friday, the Yemeni government troops shot down an Emirati drone flown by the STC forces amid fierce infighting in Abyan, information deputy minister, Mohamed Qaizan, tweeted.
Yemen's UN-recognized government accuses Abu Dhabi of supporting the separatist STC to serve private purposes in the war-torn country, charges denied by Emirati officials.
