Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Saudi-led coalition on Thursday said its forces shot down a Houthi drone heading to Saudi lands.
The coalition's joint forces intercepted and destroyed a Houthi booby-trapped drone, spokesman for the Arab coalition said.
The Houthis fired the plane in a systematic way to deliberately target civilian objects and civilians in the Kingdom's southern area, Turki al-Maliki added in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
On Wednesday, Maliki said the Arab coalition's navy observed a Houthi attempted hostile, terrorist act using two explosive remote-controlled boats sailed from the Yemeni western governorate of Hodeida.
The Houthi group uses Hodeida to fire ballistic missiles and bomb-laden drones and boats, and to randomly spread naval mines, the spokesman claimed.
While it has released no immediate comment on the coalition statement, the Houthi group earlier on Wednesday vowed to take violent steps against Saudi Arabia in the coming few days.
Foreign companies based in the Kingdom are urged to depart as soon as possible, the group's military spokesman tweeted.
All the civilians (Saudis and foreigners) need to keep away from areas near vital military and economic facilities, Yahiya Sarei added. "All these sites will be legitimate targets" for the Houthi forces.
