RIYADH (Debriefer)--Yemen's prime minister Maeen Abdulmalik said on Monday the essence of the Riyadh agreement calls for ending divisions among Yemenis.
"The role of Saudi Arabia in Yemen has been constructive since 2011. It is supporting Yemeni unity and sovereignty and has worked to end the divisions among the Yemenis," he said in a statement carried by Alarabiya TV.
Saudi Arabia has not put pressure on us to include specific names in the new government which has been formed to restore the functions of the state institutions, he said.
"The new government is a national not quota government. It paves the way for a new era in the country".
The internationally recognised president Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi issued a republican decree forming the 24-minister government from all factions on Friday.
The widespread corruption and deteriorating living conditions are direct results of the divisions in the country, Abdulmalik said, pointing out that the Riyadh agreement stressed to fight corruption and enhance the control and accountability systems.
