Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Iranian-backed Houthi forces have downed a spying drone of the Saudi air force in the Yemeni northern governorate of Jawf, spokesman for the group said on Sunday.
The earth defenses shot down the Saudi plane while hovering over al-Maraziq area in Jawf bordering Saudi lands, Yahiya Sarei added.
The Turkey-made Curial drone is used in espionage and combating missions, the general said.
In the meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition announced a series of airstrikes on what it said Houthi sites in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a and other cities.
Earlier on Sunday, the Yemeni government troops said they intercepted two Houthi drones in al-Nodhoud area, at Jawf-Marib provincial borders.
