Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Saudi-led coalition on Saturday intercepted and destroyed a drone fired by the Houthi group northward the Saudi southern city of Khamis Mushait, the Arab coalition said in a statement.
The coalition forces take operational measures to neutralize and destroy threat sources in order to protect civilians and civilian objects, it added.
The coalition military operations are in conformity with the international humanitarian law and its conventional rules in fending off such terrorist attacks targeting civilian objects, according to the statement.
On Friday, Houthi spokesman tweeted that their air force carried out an attack on King Khalid Airbase in Khamis Mushait, using two Kasif2 drones.
Later, an official in the Saudi energy ministry said the Riyadh-based Aramco refinery was under a "terrorist assault by drones of the Iranian-backed Houthi group."
