SANAA (Debriefer)--The Ansar Allah group, also known as the Houthis, on Friday proposed an initiative to end the war in Yemen in 48 hours.

Senior leader in the group Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi called on the member states of a Saudi-UAE coalition fighting in the country, the United States of America and Britain to cease fire comprehensively in Yemen and the Yemeni-Saudi border.

He also called for lifting a blockade on Yemen, which the coalition imposed when it launched a military operation against the group in March 2015.

He suggested that the first step to end the blockade should include allowing all ships held by the coalition during the last 48 hours to berth at Hodeidah seaport.

If they are serious about peace, they will end the humanitarian suffering, he said.

The coalition has not commented on the initiative.
