Riyadh (Debriefer) - The devastating acts carried out by the Houthi group on Thursday against Saudi Arabia mean the group refuses political efforts to end Yemen's crisis and prove its dependency to Iran, spokesman for the Saudi defense ministry said Friday.
The Houthi attempt to "attack the Jizan-based petroleum station is a coward devastating assault," Turki al-Maliki added in a statement.
This attack does not target the Kingdom and its economic facilities, but target the international economic nerve, petroleum exports security, oil supplies stability and global trade and navigation, he said.
These attacks come after Riyadh announced a proposal to end the crisis in Yemen, proving the Houthi rejection to peace efforts and dependency to Tehran that seeks to "achieve its devastating agenda, spread chaos and undermine the regional and international security.
"The defense ministry will take deterrent measures needed to protect Saudi national resources .., to secure energy supplies stability and to protect civilians and civilian objects," Maliki added.
Earlier on Thursday, the Houthis carried out massive military operation aimed at military and vital sites and facilities in Saudi Arabia, spokesman for the group said Friday, using 18 bomb-laden drones and 8 ballistic missiles.
Yahiya Sarie threatened Saudis of severer military operations in coming days, warning the Kingdom against "consequences of its persist aggression and blockade on the Yemeni people."
Saudi energy ministry said a petroleum distribution station in Jizan was targeted by a devastating act with a projectile, setting fire to one of the station's tanks. No human casualties were reported.
