Taiz (Debriefer) - The so-called national resistance forces led by Tariq Saleh have freed the commander of their third brigade, Yemeni sources said Wednesday, after 4 months of abduction in the southwestern governorate of Taiz.
Brigadier General Quid al-Ward was in front of his house in Turba town when gunmen kidnapped him last November as a means of pressure to free their fellow, Tawfiq al-Saba'i, who was detained one year ago by Tariq forces, the sources added.
General Ward fled at night from his detention following a security operation by the national resistance forces, according to the sources.
No immediate comment on the release has been issued by Tariq forces that are positioned in Mocha, a district of Taiz on the Red Sea.
