Aden (Debriefer) - A senior leader of the Southern Movement was released on Monday one week after he and his colleague were kidnapped in the Yemeni port city of Aden.
Security forces of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) released Ala'a al-Qauba, local sources said, while his abducted fellow Madram Abu Siraj is still unaccounted for.
Lawyer Qauba returned to his house early on Monday, a source in the Movement said, rejecting to give further details on circumstances of the abduction and the release.
Full clarification on the issue will be given later in an official statement by the Movement's component to which Qauba is affiliated, the source added.
Previous statement by the Movement held the STC and Aden governor full responsible for the life of its two leaders.
Qauba and Abu Siraj were kidnapped last Monday, after meeting with the delegation of an international organization specialized in dispute settlement.
