MARIB (Debriefer)--A child was killed in a mine explosion in Yemen's Marib province on Tuesday, a source at the Yemeni Mines Observatory said.
Child Ali Ahmed Al-Wal was grazing sheep when the mine laid by the Houthi group went off in the district of Al-Abidiyah in southern Marib, the source said.
The Iran-allied Houthis, who seized power in late 2014, have laid more than one million land and sea mines, turning Yemen into the most-mined nation since WWII, according to ACLED.
Thousands of people, mostly civilians including children and women, have been killed and maimed in mine explosions, organisations say.
