The Yemeni Airline, Yemenia, flight 609 made Sunday a forced landing, half an hour after departure, at Cairo airport to save the life of a female passenger.
The captain decided to return to Cairo airport in appreciation of RadhiaAssaqqaf's health that worsened just after leaving the airport, said co-travelers, praising the pilot's decision.
The emergency return, of Cairo-Aden flight 609, was for mere humane reasons, Yemenia official told Debriefer. "The captain took the measure as caring for the traveler's safety and health, although he was aware thatwould affect the plane, given its load."
Based on its load of fuel, the plane had to keep flying over Cairo for 30-45 minutes before landing again, leading its wheels to explode, he added. "The captain knew this well, in addition to other costs, but he placed the patient's health as top priority."
The official called media outlets to seek truth and derive information from their right sources.
Two days ago, media reported that a 6-year-old child had died before arrival at Cairo airport on Yemenia flight 600.
Suffering from heart disease, the child was accompanied by her family to Egypt for medication, according to reports.
The Yemeni national transporter, Yemenia's 11-plane fleet flew, before 2014, to more than 35 national and international destinations.
The 4-year warbetween the Saudi-backed internationally-recognized Yemeni government and the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, who ousted the government in 2014 and still controls the capital of Sana'a and most northern areas, has left some Yemenia planes out of service for lack of maintenance.
