The European Union called on Monday evening the (legitimate) government and all parties in Yemen to implement all the terms of the Riyadh agreement.
The European Union has affirmed its rejection to declare the UAE-backed "Southern Transitional Council" (STC) its self-administration for the southern Yemeni provinces.
It warned of the repercussions of the transitional council statement on the efforts of the United Nations to bring peace to Yemen, according to the "Anatolia" agency.
Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano in a statement to reporters in Brussels considered the move as an impediment to the United Nations efforts to reach stability and peace in Yemen.
He said, “There is an agreement reached in November in Saudi Arabia that helps to reduce the escalation in Yemen. We call on the Yemeni government and all parties to implement all terms of the peace agreement.”
"The southern transitional council’s announcement of self-administration of the south “will bring problems and obstacles to the United Nations efforts to reach peace and stability in Yemen.”, Stano stressed.
