The Yemeni legitimate government-run supreme national emergency committee for Covid-19, announced on Monday that two confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID -19) were registered, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infected cases in all regions of Yemen to 134, including 21 deaths.
The committee’s account on the social networking site “Twitter” stated: The cases that were monitored today were recorded in the Shabwa governorate in southeastern Yemen.
Earlier on Monday, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen said that cases of (Covid-19 ) increased by 325% during the week with a worrying mortality rate of 15.9%.
The UN office indicated in a tweet on its account on the social networking site "Twitter" that aid agencies are expanding the response on the basis that the transmission of the Coronavirus occurs in all parts of the country.
With the number of deaths increasing daily across the country devastated by a war raging in its sixth year, the Yemeni internationally recognized government issued an urgent appeal on Sunday international organizations to support them in facing epidemics and confronting the Corona virus in Aden and the rest of the provinces.
