Abyan (Debriefer) The Yemeni Joint Forces (JF) and the Houthi group late on Saturday exchanged fierce artellery shelling in the southern governorate of Abyan.
The bombing affected military sites and some populated villages in Lauder and Mokairas districts bordering the central governorate of Baydha, field sources said on Sunday.
JF artellery bombed several Houthi sites, the so-called southern forces said in a statement, "in response to Houthi shelling that targeted our posts and populated villages in al-Halhal area."
The artellery shelling is still violently underway, the statement said, as the JF are fully prepared to fend off any Houthi attempted advancement.
No reports have been obtained on losses.
