New Covid-19 cases are reported in Aden

Aden (Debriefer) - Covid-19 reported cases in Yemen have increased to 1,906, the country's internationally-recognized government said Friday, as 7 more infections were recorded in provinces under its control, after the pandemic lessened for weeks.

"The new infections occurred in the governorates of Hadhramout (4) and Aden (3 cases)," the government-run supreme emergency committee (SEC) tweeted.

The virus has killed one person in Hadhramout, bringing the total to 542 deaths, it added.

According to SEC statistics, 1,058 people have recovered from the pandemic so far.

Last July, health authorities and Doctors Without Borders (MSF) closed the Amal medical center, which was assigned for treating Covid-19 cases in Aden, following decline in the virus infections.
