Muscat (Debriefer) - The Houthi group will not forget the Kuwaiti late Amir's stances supporting peace in Yemen and his obvious love for Yemen, the group's spokesman tweeted on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Kuwaiti palace announced the Amir Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber al-Sabah's death of the age of 91.
"On the day of his demise, we won't forget the Kuwaiti Amir's position in support of peace talks," Mohamed Abdul Salam added. "At every meeting with him, Amir Sabah expressed his love for Yemen.
"The late Amir used to show his keenness to put out the war fire... This was gained everyone's respect."
The Kuwaiti late ruler always stressed the need for constant negotiations between Yemeni parties to achieve positive results and sought peace that would maintain Yemen's security, its people's safety and territorial unity.
In 2016, Kuwait hosted 100-day peace discussions between the Yemeni parties.
Since 23 July, Amir Sabah has been undergoing medication in the United States, after an undeclared surgery at home.
On 18 July, Kuwait said some of the Amir's powers had been transferred to his crown prince, Noaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber al-Sabah (83), following his admission to hospital.
Since his inauguration as the Kuwaiti Amir in January 2006, Sheikh Sabah adopted a balanced approach to dealing with many issues at Arab and Gulf levels.
