Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Yemeni late president Ali Abdullah Saleh and his regime had relations with the Zionist entity, the Houthis said Sunday, citing "secret documents" that the group said to unveil Israeli interventions in Yemen.
The Houthi military spokesman briefly showed reporters documents, issued by the national security bureau in the days of Saleh, that expose his relation with Israel.
The documents show that the then assistant to Israel's foreign minister arrived in Sana'a on 14 July 2007, in an undeclared two-day trip, Yahiya Sarie said.
The Israeli official met with Saleh's relatives assuming military and security senior posts, the spokesman added quoting the documents.
"The Israel visit to Sana'a was arranged by Yemeni officials, in addition to the United Arab Emirates' role. This was the second visit of this kind; the first was paid on 2 February 2005.
"In his visit, the Israeli official discussed with officials at the time cooperation in the field of Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb security. Military, agricultural and tourist fields and commercial cooperation were discussed and Israel products were allowed access to the Yemeni market," Sarie said.
Among the most important issues discussed by Tel Aviv diplomat was civil aviation and arrangements for a deal allowing for the Israeli civil aircraft to fly through Yemeni skies, he added.
The Houthi group has other evidence that the Israeli army took part in the aggression on Yemen, the Houthi officer claimed, noting that they would display them in the suitable time.
"The battle today is decisive, and facing the aggression means facing the Israeli plots," he said.
Israel plans to provide tens of thousands of Jews the Yemeni nationality, he added, warning against the "danger of this project to the Yemeni national security."
