TAIZ (Debriefer)--Clashes renewed on Friday between government and Houthi forces in Yemen's southwestern city of Taiz.
Local sources said the two sides fought fierce battles in northern and northwestern parts during which they exchanged heavy fire.
The government forces repelled Houthi assaults on the air defence camp in 40th Street that coincided with Houthi artillery and tank shelling on a number of populated areas, the sources said.
There were no reports of civilian casualties.
The fighting resumed two weeks ago in the city divided between pro-government forces and the Houthis.
The pro-government forces are seeking to liberate the parts controlled by the Houthis who have been besieging the city for five years.
