Aden (Debriefer) - The vicinity of the Yemeni Aden international airport was rocked by a violent blast of an explosive device early on Sunday, 11 days after the facility was targeted by a missile attack.
The bomb exploded in al-Aarish quarter in Khour Maksar district near the airport, local sources said, with no casualties reported.
The explosive device was planted in a cartoon and blasted in an empty space, but the violent sound left damages to windows of the nearby houses, the sources added.
This is the second explosion seen by the southern port city after Thursday blast that rocked Mansoura district where a bomb was placed inside a rubbish container.
While no casualties were reported, the blast left damages to some cars and buildings, local sources told Debriefer then, as security forces rushed to the scene.
On 30 December 2020, Aden international airport was under an attack that targeted the prime minister and 23 of his 24-portfolio cabinet upon their arrival.
27 people were killed and 108 others wounded in the missile attack, which the government survived.
No party claimed responsibility for the attack, but the government blamed the Houthi group that denied.
