Riyadh Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Houthi forces have made wins and advanced towards edges of the Yemeni northeastern city of Marib, spokesman for Houthi air force said Wednesday, as they would announce the seizure of Marib in 48 hours.
The Houthis took control of sites in Rahabah, al-Jowba and Hareeb districts, General Abdullah al-Jeffry added in remarks to the Anadolu Agency, citing the Yemeni official parliament calls for the city to be saved from the Houthis.
The control of Marib was decided in the few last days in response to the "aggression's continuous blockade on Yemenis," and will be announced in the next 48 hours, he said.
Negotiations reached impasse, pushing the "political and military leadership to commence Marib liberation battle," the Houthi officer said, accusing the government of thwarting efforts to reach political settlement.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Yemeni defense ministry-run 26september.net said the official government troops retook control of key sites in the northeastern governorate of Marib, after fierce battles with the Houthi group.
