Sana'a (Debriefer) - Spokesman for the Houthi group on Monday called on the Saudi-led coalition to separate the humanitarian file from the political one at talks sponsored by the UN to end war in Yemen.
"At the beginning of the seventh year, we remind the aggression countries of the need for ending their aggression inclusively and lifting the blockade fully," Mohamed Abdul Salam tweeted, hinting at the Arab coalition fighting in Yemen.
Humanitarian rights, such as reopening Sana'a airport and Hodeida port, need to be separated and "not be subjected to political and military blackmail," he added.
The coalition controls Yemen's skies and seas, including the coasts of the Houthi-held Hodeida port through which over 70 percent of the country's imports arrive, while the Iranian-backed Houthis control most of Yemeni northern areas, including the capital Sana'a.
Parties to Yemen's war are currently in talks, which faced a key pending difference in the form of Houthi demand to have the blockade lifted before any truce, according to Reuters.
