JAWF (Debriefer)--The commander of the Sixth Command in the army of Yemen's internationally recognised government Maj. Gen. Ameen Al-Waeli was killed in balltes with the Houthi forces in the northeastern province of Jawf, military sources said late on Friday night.
The army has neither confirmed nor denied the news.
Battles between government and Houthi forces have been raging for three months in Jawf.
Meanwhile, the government forces say they have retaken key positions that were captured by the Houthis in 2020.
