Sana'a (Debriefer) - The Houthi group has precisely hit a key military site in the Saudi King Khalid airbase in Khamis Mushait, Houthi spokesman said Thursday, while the Saudi-led coalition announced interception of a drone heading to the Saudi southern city.
"The air drone force in Thursday dawn carried out an attack on King Khalid airbase.. with Qasif-K2 drone," Yahiya Sarie added in a statement.
The attack targeted "a key military site," he said, noting that the "blow was accurate.
"This targeting comes as part of normal and legitimate retaliation to the aggression's escalation and inclusive blockade on our country."
Early on Thursday, the Arab coalition said its defenses intercepted and destroyed a bomb-laden drone fired by the Houthi group northward Khamis Mushait.
The Houthi hostile attempts systematically and deliberately target civilians and civilian objects, the coalition added in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
The Houthis have recently stepped up their attacks on Saudi targets using ballistic missiles, drones and other projectiles, but the coalition repeatedly says its forces intercept them.
On Wednesday, the US special envoy for Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, dubbed the Houthi growing attacks on the Kingdom as very worrisome trend.
