Riyadh (Debriefer) The Yemeni Leadership Council (LC) on Wednesday reiterated commitment to payment of the civil servants salaries, two days after the LC president, Rashad al-Alimi, warned that his government would not be able to pay the salaries as of this month due to Houthi attacks.
The LC held a virtual meeting chaired by President Alimi, and was briefed by PM Maeen Abdulmalek on the government's policies to deal with Houthi terrorist attacks' impacts on humanitarian situations, energy supplies and global shipping traffic, the Aden-based Saba said.
The government will pay the salaries using the monetary policy effective instruments to curb inflation and boost the national money position, the LC promised.
The LC hailed the "positive indicators in minimizing the public budget deficit," underlining the need for mobilizing all the resources to honor the State's pledges given to the people and foiling the Houthi terrorist plots to stop economic reforms.
