Saudi deputy defense minister discusses with UN, US envoys Yemen crisis

Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Saudi deputy defense minister has discussed with the UN and US special envoys for Yemen, Martin Griffiths and Tim Lenderking respectively, the Yemeni latest developments and efforts exerted to reach an inclusive political solution for the 6-year-old war.
Early on Wednesday, Khaled Bin Salman tweeted that he reiterated the Kingdom's determined support for UN efforts aimed at ceasefire and political solution for Yemen's crisis.
Meeting with the US envoy addressed joint efforts in support the Saudi initiative official and UN efforts aimed at ceasefire and political solution for the crisis, the Saudi official said, hailing the dialogue as constructive.
The UN and US envoys are currently visiting the Kingdom, as part of a new trip that will include Oman, for talks on a long-sought ceasefire in Yemen.
Lenderking will keep pressing for unhindered inflow of goods through all the Yemeni ports, and will work on an international consensus to a ceasefire, the Department of State said in a statement.
The US diplomat talks will focus on how to reach a sustainable, inclusive and urgent ceasefire to secure regular delivery of basic commodities and humanitarian assistances across Yemen, the statement added.
