SHABWAH (Debriefer)--The government forces have recaptured the highway between the districts of Usaylan and Bayhan in Yemen's southeastern province of Shabwah after fierce battles with the Iran-backed Houthi group.
They launched a massive assault with support from the Saudi-led coalition against Houthi positions in west of Usaylan, recapturing the highway and key areas, military sources said on Wednesday.
There were no reports about how many from both sides were killed and injured in the battles.
The Houthis seized Usaylan, Al-Ain and Bayhan two months ago after they tightened their grip on the adjacent province of Bayda.
