Leader of the Houthi group ( Ansar Allah) was killed on Wednesday in a bomb attack in al-Bayda province in central Yemen.
A security source in the Al-Bayda province told "Debriefer" news agency.
Unknowns blasted an explosive device remotely as director of the Directorate of al-Zaher Ahmed Abdul Qawi al-Humaiqani was passing in as street in Al-Bayda.
The source added that the explosion resulted in the killing of the leading al-Humaiqani and three of his companions, including a child.
Two of his bodyguards were also seriously injured.
No one has claimed responsibility for the operation as of this writing.
Al-Bayda province is one of the strongholds of the Islamic State (IS) and Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), which has bolstered its presence there, taking advantage of the bloody war in Yemen for the fifth consecutive year between the Yemen`s internationally recognized government backed by a Saudi-led Arab military Coalition and the Iran-backed Houthi group (Ansar Allah).
