Saudis admit that Houthis shot down their Apache helicopter, killing 20 pilots in Asir

A Saudi Apache helicopter has shot down and killed its Saudi crew in Yemen, Saudi media reported on Saturday.

The Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV has broadcast images published saying that they were to shoot down a Saudi helicopter in Asir during hostilities.

The military spokesman for the Houthis (Ansar Allah), said on Friday that the air defenses of his group, was able to shoot down a Saudi Apache helicopter with a surface-to-air missile "with a new technology to be revealed later."

The Saudi helicopter was shot down on Friday morning in a Majaza area off Asir while it was carrying out hostilities.

He added that "the process of shoting down the Apache documented by audio and video lens of the war media.

The downing of the Saudi Apache helicopter comes nearly three months after the Houthi group Ansar Allah unveiled two air defense systems, "Fatir 1" and "Thaqib 1".
