Houthis say over 43,000 civilians killed or injured by coalition operations in Yemen

Sana'a (Debriefer) - 43,130 civilians, including women and children, have been killed or injured since March 2015 when the Saudi-led coalition started its military operations in Yemen, the Houthi human rights ministry said Wednesday.
16,771 civilians were killed and other 26,359 wounded in the period from March 2015 to August 2020, the ministry added at press conference.
The Arab coalition killed 3,747 children and injured 4,000 others, leaving 5,345 women killed or injured, it told reporters.
The coalition and Yemeni government arrested and kidnapped more than 1,000 people in areas under their control, the ministry said.
In addition, hundreds of civilians and activists opposing the war on Yemen were forcibly disappeared by the coalition forces.
According to the Houthi ministry, 350,000 patients have been prevented from traveling abroad for medication due to the closure of Sana'a airport, 42,000 of whom died.
24.3 million people in Yemen are now in need for assistance, and 7.27 million people lack shelter, it added.
