JAWF (Debriefer)--The government forces said on Saturday they have captured new positions from the Houthi fighters in the area of Al-Khanjar in Jawf province on the border with Saudi Arabia.
With support from tribal fighters, they seized the areas of Al-Aswad, Bin Aziz and Al-Barqa'a Intersection after fierce battles with the Houthis, field sources said. Many fighters from both sides were killed and injured in the battles, the sources added.
Warplanes of a Saudi-led coalition fighting in support of the government launched attacks against Houthi reinforcements in the province, the sources said, without giving more details.
The government forces recaptured the strategic Al-Khanjar military camp and nearby positions days ago.
