DHALE (Debriefer)--The government forces advanced against the Houthi fighters in north Yemen's southern province of Dhale on Sunday as they launched a massive offensive to liberate the remaining parts of the province, a field source said.
They have recaptured the villages of Hajlan, Al-Rahbah and Soun and are pushing deeper in the villages of Al-Hakib and Soun Warmah and Al-Ma'asar, the source said.
The Houthi group has sent reinforcements to repel the assault aimed at liberating the town of Damt, the last Houthi stronghold.
Battles are raging around the strategic Nasiyah Mountain which will represent a turning point in the battles if it falls to the government forces, the source said.
The mountain is part of a range which overlooks four provinces and includes the Al-Awd Mountain which separates Dhale from Ibb province.
