RIYADH (Debriefer)--The Saudi-led coalition on Wednesday said it thwarted a new Houthi attack Abha airport in southern Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi air defences intercepted an explosives-laden drone that was fired towards the airport, it said in a statement, adding that the attempted attack was a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
We are dealing with the source of threats strictly to protect civilians and civilian objects, it added, according to the Saudi press agency.
The coalition has been fighting the Iran-allied Houthi group in support of Yemen's internationally recognised government since 2015.
And the group has been firing ballistic missiles and explosives-laden drones into Saudi Arabia in retaliation for the military campaign against it.
