MARIB (Debriefer)--The Houthis are pushing deeper in Yemen's Marib province amid raging clashes with the government forces, a local official said on Tuesday.
They are advancing in northwestern parts, taking over new positions in the district of Madghal and approaching the centre of the district of Raghwan, director of the district of Raghwan, Taha Alawi, said.
The clashes are taking place 15 kilometers from the centre of Raghwan, he said.
"The war with the Houthis is fateful. We will not rest or give up even if only 10 meters of land is left for us," he said, calling on the free people of Marib and the national army to support the fighters in the district.
On Monday, the Houthis said they were advancing in the northwestern parts of Shafan, Al-Dirah, Al-Ghayth, Jabal Al-Safra'a and Al-Hanaya.
They are seeking to seize the oil-rich province where the headquarters of the army of the exiled government is based.
