Baydha (Debriefer) - Fierce battles erupted on Friday pitting the Yemeni government troops against the Houthi group in the central governorate of Baydha.
The official army along with public resistance and Al Homaiqan tribesmen launched a surprise attack on Houthi sites in several areas late on Friday, military and resistance sources said.
The government troops and supporters stormed into the Zahir district's center, in Baydha, where the Houthis suffered grave losses, the sources added.
In the meantime, Al Homaiqan tribesmen carried another attack on the group's sites in the nearby of the tribe's localities.
The attacks sparked violent clashes, with both sides using different arms, they sources said, noting that the tribesmen damaged a number of Houthi armed pickups.
