Riyadh (Debriefer) - The Houthi recent military escalation and attacks on the Yemeni northeastern governorate of Marib are "terrorist coward acts," the Saudi ambassador to Yemen tweeted on Wednesday.
The Iranian-backed Houthi group's repeated rejection to peace calls, its persistently targeting the Kingdom and its attack on Marib are "terrorist coward acts.. spoiling all the international efforts to make peace," Mohamed Al Jaber said.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Yemeni Foreign Minister called on the UN Security Council to take measures putting an end to the Houthi escalation in Marib.
The Iranian-backed group fires ballistic missiles at residential areas and attacks Saudi lands with drones and missiles, FM Ahmed Bin Mubarak said.
Marib has continuously been witnessing fierce battles for nearly two weeks between the Yemeni official government troops and Houthi fighters, amid UN warnings against humanitarian complications.
